1. Acceptance of Terms By accessing and using CourtMate ("the Service"), you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provision of this agreement. If you do not agree to these Terms of Service, please do not use the Service. 2. Description of Service CourtMate is a legal practice management platform designed specifically for Sri Lankan law chambers and individual practitioners. The Service provides: Case management and tracking Court date scheduling with conflict detection Action item management Team collaboration tools Integration with Sri Lankan court calendars and holidays 3. User Accounts 3.1 Registration: You must register for an account to use certain features of the Service. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration. 3.2 Account Security: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. 3.3 Account Types: CourtMate offers Personal Practice and Chamber (Team) subscription plans with different features and pricing. 4. Subscription and Billing 4.1 Free Trial: New users receive a 30-day free trial period. No credit card is required to start the trial. 4.2 Subscription Fees: After the trial period, continued use requires an active paid subscription. Fees are charged monthly or annually based on your selected plan. 4.3 Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. 4.4 Refunds: Subscription fees are non-refundable except as required by law. 5. Acceptable Use You agree not to: Use the Service for any unlawful purpose Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the Service Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers Upload or transmit viruses or malicious code Impersonate any person or entity Share your account credentials with unauthorized users 6. Data and Privacy Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. We take data security seriously and implement industry-standard measures to protect your information. 6.1 Data Ownership: You retain all rights to the data you input into the Service. 6.2 Data Backup: We perform regular backups, but you are responsible for maintaining your own backup copies of critical data. 7. Intellectual Property The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by CourtMate and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. 8. Limitation of Liability CourtMate is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for: Any missed court dates or deadlines Inaccuracies in court holiday data Loss of data due to technical issues Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages Professional Responsibility: Users remain solely responsible for managing their legal practice and meeting all professional obligations. 9. Indemnification You agree to indemnify and hold harmless CourtMate from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms. 10. Modifications to Service We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the Service at any time, with or without notice. We will not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuance of the Service. 11. Governing Law These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Sri Lanka, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. 12. Dispute Resolution Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved through arbitration in Colombo, Sri Lanka, in accordance with the Arbitration Act of Sri Lanka. 13. Changes to Terms We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Terms on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date. 14.
